Quitting with Nicabate® Patches

I’m still having stressful moments every now and again but I still feel like I’m doing really well. I haven’t slipped up and I really feel I won’t. I really don’t want to put all those chemicals back into my body only to crave another cigarette half an hour later. I just want to keep putting more time between now and the last time I had a cigarette!

It was quite funny on Sunday – I was busy setting up a new wardrobe that came in a flat pack. I did it all on my own and I did get a bit tense at times, especially when I was trying to hang the door on. I ended up having to put the door aside and go and chill out for a bit. I just left it and went for a drive. It was a real step that my first thoughts weren’t of having a cigarette. It helps that my car has always been a smoke-free zone but I was really proud that I didn’t go for a cigarette. Two weeks ago I was setting up
a chest of drawers and I couldn’t even count how many cigarettes I smoked!

And then it took me three hours to get it done!! So it’s nice that I can get stressed out and not need to smoke. I’m not relying on anything and it feels good that I don’t rush out to buy cigarettes when I’m running low.

During the week I met up with some girlfriends at a local beer garden – it was one of their birthdays. Because some of them smoked, I just drank iced water… I wanted to avoid any temptations. I actually got offered a cigarette by someone and I said no thanks… only to have someone else ask me for a lighter. When I explained that I don’t smoke anymore it felt like a real milestone.

Nicabate have been really good – they’ve been texting me every couple of days. I got a newsletter today with some helpful hints and, you know, a little pat on the back. I’ve had a couple of phone calls to say congratulations and keep up the good work – it makes you feel like you’re taking an important step and that people are supporting you. I’m getting more and more time to do things I enjoy, I smell better, feel better and I’m getting stronger and stronger and I know that I can beat it!
