Quitting with Nicabate® Patches

How many cigarettes do you smoke a day?

Quitting with Nicabate® Patches

I’m determined to do it this time. This is my third serious attempt to give up smoking. My partner doesn’t smoke which is really good so I can have a smoke-free home. Am I going to become a reformed smoker though? That’s what I wonder and I hope not!

My first day was pretty good although I had a few touchy moments. I kept myself really busy before work and distracted myself during my breaks by eating lots of fresh fruit and yoghurt and drinking lots of water. I sat in the staffroom, which was new because normally I’m scoffing down food quickly and racing outside so I can get a cigarette. So I spent the whole 45 minutes in there with the other girls and had a good chat and a giggle which was good. am finding it hard to sit still because that’s when I’d reach for my smokes – so I haven’t really been staying in one spot for long. I’ve been moving around a bit so I just have to learn how to relax without having a cigarette. I’m not really missing it at all, I’m just finding those parts of the day when I’m used to having one a little bit tricky.

After a week, I can say giving up’s not as hard as it’s been before. Before it consumed every thought practically. All I could think about was smoking but I haven’t really found that yet. Hopefully I won’t. Maybe it’s because I really do want to give up this time!
